Search For Structure

So walking around campus I am supposed to be seeing structures, but honestly, most of the time I'm too tired to notice much. When finally motivated enough to think about this assignment I really tried hard to find something that no one else would do. Then I realized that there aren't really that many original things on campus. So here is my picture of..... STAIRS!

To measure the entire structure you must use meters because it is much too large for centimeters and much to small for kilometers. The individual steps must be measured in centimeters and the pebbles and stones in each step in millimeters. They are all on a different measuring scale but they are also very literal components that come together to make the whole. In a more abstract way the whole set of stairs is made up of pebbles because that it what each individual stair is made of.

The steps in the set of stairs are comparable to lincoln logs. They build on top of each other to make a structure. Lincoln logs generally make house but they are just like interlocking pieces in a structure.

The pebbles in the step are almost like puzzle pieces in a puzzle. They all combine to make a surface. They aren't quite interlocking but they do still form the shape of the step.

The function of steps is to give a pathway up to raised area. Without the compilation of steps, individual steps or the pebbles to make up the steps, the structure would be non functioning or nonexistent. They build upon one another to make the structure a whole. Each bigger part relies on the smaller parts before it. This is the same for many structures smaller components which make up middle size components which make up large components which make up the whole.
